Join us at the Seattle Art Fair for an exhibition of Fierce Florals by Daisy Patton, Meggan Joy and Jennifer Zwick. Each artist employs a variety of botanicals and floral patterns in their works in complex and elegant ways.
Patton’s large-scale paintings begin with vintage photographs enlarged to a life-size scale and then delicately painted with patterns, vines and flowers, both obscuring and enhancing her figures’ poses and repeated gestures.
Similarly, repeated poses and gestures found throughout art history are the framework for Meggan Joy’s digital collages. Subtle movements of hands and regal poses of aristocracy are obliterated by a collage of colorful flowers, plants, seeds and sometimes bugs that have all been individually photographed, and often grown, by Joy.

Finally, Jennifer Zwick’s meticulous studio photographs seem to explode with color and begin to feel unreal as the ultra flatness of the image becomes apparent. The viewer is left delightfully disoriented as the brain is left to interpret the visual information they are presented with.

Scale, optics, beauty, humor and process are significant in how these three remarkable artists’ works are interpreted. We are delighted to be showing them together for the first time at the Seattle Art Fair!
