“True beauty lies in the deatils. ✨ Artist Meggan Joy shares insight into the creative process behind these masterpieces: “I use plants to tell human stories. All the images used in my collages are photographed by me, sorted in @lightroom and pieced together in @photoshop. Each piece has its own ‘recipe,’ a list of plants, bugs, birds, whatever I feel the piece needs for its theme. I’m inspired by science, folklore, art history or just my own personal associations. As such, each piece takes about ~2 years from idea to final piece to finish. (4 years being the longest, 1 year being the quickest) because I have to hunt down and photograph all the goodies. Once I have all my pieces it’s about 2 months of working in Photoshop to combine them all. Many many many layers...”
